Since its inception in 2004, Shearwater Research Inc. has been driven by the passion and vision of its CEO Bruce Partridge. With a background in computer systems design, on-board programming and advanced technical diving, Bruce has brought a unique perspective to the world in the field of dive computers.
With the belief that divers want a simple and intuitive user interface previously unavailable in the dive computer market and rebreather control systems, the Shearwater Research team focused on designing a menu that makes sense to the user.
As an experienced rebreather user and as a technical diver, Bruce understood the need to be offered reasonable choices, requiring as few buttons as possible, during stressful underwater situations.
Shearwater Research quickly grew to become a major supplier of Trimix computers and electronic control systems for recyclers and now occupies a leading position in its field.
